Staff Reporter : kolkata, 8 August, 2026. A special technical seminar on “Role of Hindi in the spread of technology and application of Hindi IT tools” was successfully organized by the Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti (Undertaking-2), Kolkata on 07th August 2026 (Friday). The event was held at the conference room of the Chairman’s office, Central Marketing Agency Headquarters, Steel Authority of India Limited.
The keynote speaker of the seminar, IT expert and CEO of Dubai-based Algo Technologies, Dr. Balendu Sharma Dadhich, said in his speech that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a very effective and important tool in research and knowledge expansion. However, it cannot be a substitute for the basic thinking, creativity and analytical capabilities of humans. He urged researchers to use AI as a collaborative tool, not as a substitute for independent thinking.
He further explained that the previous stage of artificial intelligence was mainly limited to searching and retrieving existing information. But today’s creative artificial intelligence is capable of generating new ideas, analysis and content by understanding the relevant issues and context. In this episode, he highlighted the effectiveness and practical importance of important AI platforms like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Cloud and Grok. He said that to get excellent results through these platforms, it is very important to provide clear, specific and accurate instructions (prompts) from the user.
The event began with the welcome address by Shri Prashant Ojha, Member-Secretary of the Association. He warmly welcomed the keynote speaker Dr. Balendu Sharma Dadhich, Dr. Bichitrasen Gupta, Deputy Director (Implementation), Department of Official Languages, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and all the eminent participants present.
On this occasion, Shri Surendra Kumar Sharma, President of the Association and Executive Director, Steel Authority of India Limited, Central Marketing Agency, said in his presiding address that the use of Rajbhasha Hindi is no longer limited to administrative correspondence and official work. Hindi is now establishing a strong identity worldwide through artificial intelligence, neural machine translation, voice typing and various digital technologies. He also mentioned that acquiring knowledge about modern IT tools is an essential need of the present time for the effective use of Hindi in the changing technological environment.
Around 52 participants from various member offices affiliated to Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanya Samiti (Subject-2), Kolkata participated in the seminar with enthusiasm and benefited from the valuable inputs of the subject experts. Dr. Bichitrasen Gupta, Deputy Director (Implementation), Department of Rajbhasha, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and Dr. Rajiv Rawat, Senior Rajbhasha Officer and IT Expert, IIT Kharagpur were specially present on the occasion.
The programme was coordinated under the guidance and supervision of Shri Sanjit Kumar Das, General Manager, Human Resources, Steel Authority of India Limited, Central Marketing Corporation. At the end of the programme, Shri Ajay Shankar Mishra, Official Language Officer, expressed his gratitude to all the distinguished guests, speakers and participants present and proposed a vote of thanks.
