Rotary India has come forward to support the relief work across India in a big way with a contribution of Rs 26 crores to the PM Cares Fund………

News Stardom: 24th. April 2020. Rotary India has come forward to support the relief work across India in a big way with a contribution of Rs 26 crores to the PM Cares Fund apart from another 75 crores worth of supplies in different COVID 19 affected States of India. The cumulative support towards the combat pandemic initiative has been to the tune of Rs 101 crores which includes nearly 1 crore masks, 2 Lakh litres of sanitizers, 75,000 units of PPE, 6.5 lakh packets of food grains, 25 lakh meals, Rs. 20 crores worth of medical equipments and 3500 hours of medical counselling. The organization has also allocated a large number of it’s hospitals across India as Quarantine centers. Recently interacting with the over 350 Rotarians, led by Rotary International President Nominee Shekhar Mehta, the Union Health Minister, Dr Harsha Vardhan praised the efforts of Rotary India and thanked them for their contribution to the PM-Cares fund as well as the material contributions as providing equipment, sanitisers, food, PPE kits and N95 mask to the hospitals. He also expressed hope that Rotarians shall also spread awareness about social distancing and other measures against the spread of the virus.

Rotary India plans to continue the relief efforts across the country in the next months as the leadership feels that the crisis is far from over and as the organization helped in making India a Polio free country, it shall also help combating COVID 19.
