Narayana Health and New Development Bank Establish KnowledgeSharing Partnership
Under the MoU signed between the two entities, Narayana Health will support New Development Bank and its member countries in building technology-enabled, patient-centric hospital capacity
Staff Reporter : Kolkata 13th August 2026: Narayana Hrudayalaya Limited (Narayana Health) and The New Development Bank (NDB) established knowledgesharing partnership, through which Narayana Health will support NDB and its member countries in strengthening smart hospital service capacity by sharing experience in delivering efficient, technologyenabled and patientcentric hospital services.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NDB and Narayana Health was signed by H.E. Mrs. Dilma Rousseff, President of NDB and Dr. Devi Shetty, Founder and Chairman of Narayana Health, in the presence of Mrs. Anuradha Thakur, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, India, and Alternate Governor for India at the NDB, in Jaipur, India, on the sidelines of the First BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting.
The cooperation between NDB and Narayana Health will focus on digital health, data systems, technology transfer and knowledge sharing.
“This MoU is an institutional partnership between NDB and Narayana Health to ensure that excellence, innovation, efficiency, and affordability can, and must, coexist in healthcare. The signing of this MoU today is a milestone for NDB in its priority to promote social inclusion,” said H.E. Mrs. Dilma Rousseff, NDB President.
On the partnership, Dr. Devi Shetty, Founder and Chairman, Narayana Health, said, “Through this knowledge sharing collaboration, we look forward to working with NDB and its member countries to support stronger, technology-enabled healthcare systems across emerging economies.”
During her visit to Narayana Health City in Bengaluru in March 2026, Mrs. Dilma Rousseff observed the institution’s innovative approach to providing affordable, high-quality healthcare through patient-focused care and cutting-edge digital technologies.

New Development Bank
The New Development Bank is a multilateral development bank established in 2015 by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, with the purpose of mobilizing resources for infrastructure and sustainable development projects in emerging markets and developing countries (EMDCs), complementing the existing efforts of multilateral and regional financial institutions for global growth and development. In 2021, NDB welcomed its first non-founding members and continues to expand, positioning itself as a platform for wider collaboration among EMDCs.
