“FREED” volunteers carried family packets containing dry food and groceries to help 500 family and around 2500 persons.

News Stardom: 8th. June, 2020. On 6th June 2020 FREED volunteers carried family packets containing dry food and groceries including potatoes soyabean lentil muri chire biscuits cooking oil spices sugar salt match boxes to Bali island . Additionally roll of tarpaulin rubber shoes fruit juice medicines were provided. The total weight of the items were over 4000 kgs to help 500 family and around 2500 persons carried by 2 launches from Godkhali a journey of over 1 hr. Sunderban already suffering from global warming and climate change has been devastated by Corona induced lockdown and Cyclone Amphan Agriculture fishing bee keeping and tourism is greatly affected with loss of livelihood and prospects .

The FREED team saw the extensive damage in Birajnagar , Bijoynagar and Bally 9 and 10 where breach in embankment has resulted in flooding and damage to crops and mud houses.
The FREED members spread out across the world intends to carry on programs of mangrove plantation skill development initiatives and solar power systems in collaboration with local partners.
