Staff Reporter : Kolkata 8th December 2023: The 4th edition of the Bengal International Jewellery Show 2023 (BIJS), organised by KNC Services, duly supported by Swarna Shilpo Bachao Committee, Bullion Gem & Jewellery Association and Bangiya Swarna Shilpi Samiti was inaugurated today by Mr. Joy Allukas, CMD, Joyallukas India along with Mr. Ali Saleh Baterfi Al Kindi, Vice Chairman, Federation of Council of Saudi Chamber, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Mr. Samar Kumar De, President, SSBC; Mr. Arun Kumar Varma, President, BGJA; Mr. Tagar Chandra Poddar, General Secretary, Bangiya Swarna Shilpi Samiti; Ms.Kranti Nagvekar, Founder and MD, KNC Services; Mr. Suvankar Sen, Chairman and MD, Senco Gold; Saiyam Mehra, Chairman, GJC; Mr. Subir Sen, Chairman, B.C. Sen Jewellers, Mr. Pankaj Parekh, Regional Chairman, GJEPC amongst others.


This year the biggest gem and jewellery expo of Eastern India is expected to have large number of participants both from the manufacturing and retail sector from India and abroad. The exhibition will continue till December 10. In the expo more than 250 manufacturing companies are participating and it is expected that more than 500 visitors from countries like USA, UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Kuwait, Germany, Turkey, and many more to attend the expo.


At the inauguration Mr. Joy Allukas, CMD, Joyallukas Group said, India’s gem and jewellery market is at booming and at all time high. It is the right time that such kind of exhibitions are organised. Mr. Samar Kumar De, President of Swarna Shilpo Bachao Committee extended his sincere gratitude to the organisers for organising such exhibitions in Kolkata. He also felt that only such platforms will only help West Bengal’s handicraft craftsmanship, as their works will be attracting global audience, which is evident from the presence of foreign visitors from various countries.
Ms. Kranti Nagvekar, Founder of KNC Services, expressed,

“I wish to convey my appreciation to both exhibitors and visitors for their incredible support. We expect a huge turnout of both manufacturer and buyers from the industry to attend the largest Gem & Jewellery Exhibition of Eastern India.”


This year KNC has institutionalised Durga Award (honouring women entrepreneurs in jewellery industry); Hunnar Award(honouring handcrafted jewellery artisans) and Lifetime Achievement Award. The recipient of this year Lifetime Achievement Award is Mr. Hasmukh Parekh. The Durga Award was bestowed upon 5 distinguished women – Mrs Ranjana Sen, Chairman, Senco Gold; Mrs Nilima De, Partner, Guniea Emporium; Mrs Pooja Mehra, Director , Unique Chains; Mrs Sushma Epari, Director, Epari Jewellers and Mrs Prerna Gupta, MD, Rhombus Jewels.
