The Beltola Bohagi Utsav is Assam’s premier cultural festival celebrated annually to showcase the state’s vibrant traditions, arts, and music. Named after the legendary Assamese musician and Bharat Ratna awardee, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, this prestigious honor is bestowed upon individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to society while upholding Assam’s rich cultural heritage. The award comprises symbolic items like a memento of Dr. Hazarika, a muga Gamosa, a paat Chelleng cheleng, a Rhino memento, a Jaapi, and a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakhs, each element deeply rooted in Assamese culture and tradition.
