Cosmic Birla Group Chairman Honors Tagore’s Legacy….

May 2024.  Bidhannagar Sanskriti Angan arranged the captivating “Kavipranam 1431” event as a sincere tribute to Rabindranath Tagore on the occasion of his 163rd birthday. The celebration, which took place at the Book Fair Premises in Kolkata’s Central Park, was a respectful tribute to Tagore’s significant impact on music, literature, and culture.

Enthusiasts and admirers gathered to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Tagore’s creations at the hour of dawn and as the sun set. The programs, which started at 6 a.m. in the morning and 5 p.m. in the evening, provided an insightful tour of Tagore’s classic songs and ideas.

The inaugural ceremony began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp at 6 am, signifying the illumination of knowledge and wisdom. The celebration was attended by acclaimed singer Mrs. Viva Sengupta and esteemed dignitary Shri Sabyasachi Dutta, Chairman of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation.

As Aditya Vikram Birla, Chairman and Managing Director of Cosmic EV Ltd. and Cosmic Birla Group, honored Tagore’s memory, a poignant moment unfolded over. In a solemn and respectful gesture, Birla touched Tagore’s statue and placed a garland on it, symbolizing his respect and adoration for the literary maestro’s lasting legacy. Mr Aditya Vikram Birla said, “Tagore’s legacy is a beacon of light guiding us towards a brighter future. It’s an honor to stand here today, paying homage to his memory and reaffirming our commitment to preserving his invaluable teachings.”

Not only was Kavipranam 1431 a commemoration of Tagore’s birth, but it also served as an insight into his lasting significance and social influence. The occasion reminded people of Tagore’s dream of a peaceful and educated society through music, poetry, and artistic displays.
