Staff Reporter : Bangalore, 6th March 2024: Narayana Health, one of India’s leading healthcare providers, is excited to announce ‘Med Couture’ – a crowd sourced contest inviting talented individuals and groups to reimagine the future of healthcare attire. This unique initiative aims to transform medical uniforms through innovative design, creating a vibrant balance of creativity and real-world practicality.

With prize money of INR 1 Lac for the winner and INR 25,000 for runners-up, Narayana Health aims to recognize, reward and encourage emerging talent in the design space. The initiative kicks off on March 5, with registrations open from March 5 to March 20. The first round of virtual presentations containing uniform designs and sketches is to be shared by first week of April. Shortlisted designers will have the opportunity to showcase their final creation in person at Narayana Health City in Bangalore in third week of April. A distinguished jury will evaluate the designs based on design thought, scalability, feasibility, presentation skills, and real-world practicality.

Dr Emmanuel Rupert, Managing Director & Group CEO, Narayana Health said “The competition will not only focus on aesthetics but also on sustainability. In line with Narayana Health’s Environment Sustainability Goals, the medical attire will be crafted from organic, recyclable materials. We are conscious of our impact on the planet, and this competition reflects our dedication to sustainable practices”

The competition invites participation either individually or in groups of up to three members. Uniform categories span clinical and non-clinical domains, ensuring inclusivity across varied medical roles. Designs must cater to both genders across all uniform categories.

In the clinical domain, participants can showcase their creativity and innovation in designing Doctor’s Aprons, Doctor’s Scrubs, as well as uniforms for Nurses, Nursing Aids, Nursing Managers, and Pharmacy Technicians. These categories reflect the specialized nature of roles in healthcare, emphasizing the need for functional yet aesthetically pleasing attire. For non-clinical professionals, the participants can showcase their designing talent into creating uniforms for customer care, front office staff, sales & marketing teams, and general staff.
