Airtel expands its network footprint in Bankura District under its rural enhancement project….

Densifies its network across 3069 villages by deploying additional sites for seamless connectivity*

Staff Reporter : Bankura, 26th. March, 2024: Bharti Airtel, one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, today announced that it has deployed additional sites in Bankura district to densify its network.

Bankura district network enhancement project was undertaken across 3069 villages covering 28.3 Lac rural population. Customers in the tehsils of Bankura, Barjora, Vishnupur, Gangajalghati, Indus, Sonamukhi and Raipur under Bankura districts will directly benefit from this network enhancement. The expansion will enable seamless access to high-speed connectivity that will ensure reliable mobile network for work, study and entertainment in rural areas of Bankura. In this year alone, Airtel has doubled down on its commitment to the state and has invested additional capex to enhance its network connectivity for seamless experience on 4G, 5G, Broadband and Fiber.
To expand coverage in rural villages in the state and to bring customers to enjoy the power of high-speed connectivity, the rural enhancement project covers across West Bengal including Alipurduar, Bankura, Barddhaman, Birbhum, Dakshin Dinajpur, Darjiling, Haora, Hugli, Jalpaiguri, Jhargram, Kalimpong, Koch Bihar, Maldah, Murshidabad, Nadia, North Twenty Four Parganas, Paschim Bardhaman, Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, Puruliya, South Twenty Four Parganas and Uttar Dinajpur.
Airtel has been running this rural enhancement project nationally and will augment network connectivity across 60,000 villages in the country by 2024. West Bengal has been one of the big focus markets for the company and with this initiative, the company has already augmented its network coverage across 37,661 villages covering the entire state.
With the aim of stepping up network capacity and taking services deeper into rural and unconnected areas. Airtel has also enhanced its fiber presence in the state by deploying additional capacities. The addition of fresh fiber capacity will support the growth of demand for high-speed data services in this region. Airtel’s network umbrella in the region now covers all key urban, semi urban and rural areas including highways, tourist destinations and trade centers.
