News stardom : Duttapukur, 19th October, 2025. Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers celebrated Shuva Deepabali, the festival of light and used it as an opportunity to turn the spotlight on people behind all the glow of the festival – traditional potters who sweat it out in their workshops for us to light up with festive joy and cheer.
The objective of the relook was to shed some light in an area that was long over due and spread awareness of the traditional potters’ contribution in making Diwali – the festival of lights – really happen !
The venue was a traditional potters workshop at Duttapukur in Barasat where ‘Mrit Shilpi’ Nani Gopal Paul and a group of twenty other traditional potters were felicitated by celebrity life-coach and Nritya Guru Alakananda Roy and the Directors of Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers – Arpita Saha and Rupak Saha.
“I am really overjoyed to be a part of this meaningful initiative to highlight the contribution of traditional potters in making Diwali- the festival of light – really happen “, said Alokananda Roy, adding, “And I take this opportunity to congratulate Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers for yet another initiative that was waiting to be presented.”
“We thought that it was time to turn the spotlight on an area that was long over due and spread awareness of the contribution of traditional potters who – while making our festival of light happen – themselves remain in the dark”, said Rupak Saha, Director, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers.
“A tribute, really, to the good earth that is used to make the lamps and the deft hands that mould it to shape,” added Arpita Saha, Director, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers.
And, coming to ‘Chomok Bhora Dhanteras’ – the Offer will be exclusively on at all the showrooms of Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers in Tripura (Agartala, Dharmanagar & Udaipur) and Kolkata (Gariahat, Behala & Barasat) – upto 22nd October 2025.
