News stardom : Kolkata, 3rd. January, 2023. In the post lock down era, ENT problems have been increased very much in our India like other countries due to highly growing pollution. Specially air and noise pollution are responsible for these sufferings. In this background, 50th Golden Jubilee Midterm WBAOICON, a National Conference of ENT doctors will be held on 6th -8th January at Swabhumi Kolkata. About 700 ENT doctors of various states of the country will participate to this prestigious conference. This program has been organized by ASSOCIATION of OTOLARYNGOLOGISTS of INDIA (AOI).
AOI is the largest platform of India for otolaryngologists, the super specialist doctors of Otolaryngology, the branch of Medical Science which deals with the treatment & prevention of the diseases of ear, nose & throat of human being. On the eve of the National Conference, this pre-conference Press Meet has been held at Press Club Kolkata. In this meet DR. Dwaipayan Mukherjee, Organizing Secretary, has informed that the risk of Allergy Rhinitis (AR) has been increased due to particulate matters and various floating particles of urban air. This is happened due to type-1 hyper sensitivity of nose and respiratory track. In the farther stages, due to bronchial sensitivity, the risk of asthma & COPD has also been increased.
The disease may be controlled at the initial stages by taking precautions like using masks and others. So Mass awareness is very much necessary along with legal action for decrease of pollution. Besides discussion on allergy, it will be a great academic feast rich in scientific content. Allergy is complitly recovered by immuno therapy. The new evidence based scientific method of treatments of some topics like surgery of Head & neck cancer, thyroid tumor, image guided endoscopic operation, stroboscopy and many others are very much unique and important. On the eve of the conference, on 5th January workshops on cadaver will be held at RG Kar Hospital and West Bengal Health University for the junior doctors of the various sides of the countries.
