Cricketers from Kolkata and North East India gain high-performance exposure under Yuvraj Singh’s guidance

News Stardom : Kolkata, 5th, August, 2025: The Yuvraj Singh Centres of Excellence (YSCE), in association with the Merlin Group, successfully concluded its week-long High-Performance Summer Clinic (20th to 26th July 2025) at the YSCE High-Performance Centre, Club Pavilion, Merlin Rise, Rajarhat, Kolkata.
The clinic successfully brought together young cricketers from across Kolkata and Northeast India for a comprehensive training program. The week-long initiative focused on four key areas: technical refinement, match preparedness, fitness development, and mental conditioning.
All training sessions were conducted by YSCE-certified coaches who utilized structured modules specifically tailored to accommodate various age groups and skill levels. This systematic approach ensured that each participant received appropriate instruction aligned with their developmental stage and current abilities.
The summer clinic included a competitive selection process that identified outstanding participants across different age categories. The Merlin Group generously provided one-year scholarships to the selected scholars, recognizing their potential and commitment to cricket excellence.
The scholarship recipients are as follows:
Boys Recipients: Gurudev Singh- (age 15, kolkata )(Group A), Agnish Adak-(age 8, kolkata (Group B)
Girls Recipients (Special Scholarships): Sunita Behra (age 15, odisha), Affifa Zahra-(age 10, kolkata), Ayuti Dutta (age 15, kolkata)
These scholarships represent a significant investment in the future of cricket development in the region and will provide these young cricketer with continued access to high-quality training and development opportunities.
An exclusive live interaction with international cricketer and YSCE founder Yuvraj Singh was a key highlight of the week. Addressing the participants, Singh said:
“Skill can take you far, but mindset determines how far. The players I interacted with this week showed hunger, discipline and a willingness to learn – qualities that define long-term success. It was a privilege to share my journey and see the next generation take shape.”
The closing ceremony, held on July 26, featured the felicitation of standout performers across key disciplines. Awards were conferred not only for technical performance but also for attitude, improvement, and overall participation.
Commenting on the success of the initiative, Saket Mohta, Managing Director, Merlin Group, said: “The clinic has reaffirmed our belief in the potential of young talent from this region.
