In a vibrant celebration of its 5th foundation day, the World’s First Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Museum hosted an engaging one-day workshop on Gaudiya Nritya yesterday. The event, aimed at exploring the rich traditions of this classical dance form, was conducted by the renowned Professor Dr. Mahua Mukherjee and Pt. Amitava Mukherjee.
The workshop featured insightful discussions on the history, evolution, and significance of Gaudiya Nritya, complemented by live demonstrations of both song and dance. The program was expertly coordinated by Mr. Pritam Bagchi, Assistant Curator and Conservator of the museum.
The event commenced with a blessing from Sripad Bhakti Pramod Puri Maharaj, setting a reverent tone for the day’s activities. Spd. Hrishikesh Maharaj, a distinguished monk of the Gaudiya Mission, delivered a compelling speech on the influence of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu on Gaudiya Nritya, highlighting the dance form’s deep spiritual roots.
A total of 120 students actively participated in the workshop, each receiving a certificate of participation. The day’s events underscored the museum’s commitment to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Gaudiya Nritya.
