World Environment Day by Mamta Binani…..

News stardom : Kolkata, 5th June, 2022: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Dr. (H.C.) CS Adv Mrs. Mamta Binani, President
of MSME Development Forum – West Bengal Chapter, National Past President of ICSI said, “Today every business is
focused on its ethical and moral duty towards the society.

The stakeholders are considering sustainability along with the
primary goal of wealth creation and which is why Companies have started preparing sustainability reports disclosing their
performance on environmental, social and governance parameters.”


Mrs. Mamta is also working for a lot of environmental and health issues and supports the campaign for minimal use of plastic. She was a part of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN) Annual Conference 2016 held in San Francisco on the subject ‘Integrating ESG in strategic investment decision making’ and has been trained in ‘ESG’ i.e. Environment, Social and Governance issues in a 2 day dedicated training program hosted by Blackrock in San Francisco, which had coveted trainers from Harvard Law School, among others. Talking about why ESG reporting is important, Mrs. Binani added, “ESG reporting allows stakeholders to understand the goals and targets of the Company. It holds Board and stakeholders accountable for their behavior regarding ESG issues and brings confidence to the claims made by the Company.ESG reporting helps stakeholders to avoid companies that might pose a greater financial risk due to their environmental performance or other social or governmental practices.”
In the year 2021, Mrs. Mamta Binani also successfully completed the IICA (Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs) Certificate
Programme in Responsible Business Conduct by the Centre of Business and School of Business Environment.
