The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation in key areas, including:
– Marine Archaeological Research – Conducting research into the marine archaeology of the waters of Sundarbans and Murshidabad.
– Manuscript Preservation and Translation – Utilizing AI to digitize and translate ancient manuscripts written in Brahmi and other classical scripts into English, while enhancing faded texts and images.
– Museumology and Archival Preservation – Advancing preservation practices using AI to safeguard historical records and artifacts.
– Documentary and Web Series Production – Creating cinematic content that explores the history of India, the legacy of The Asiatic Society, and notable historical personalities and events.
– Textile Documentation – Developing educational booklets on the historical significance of Indian textiles for public awareness.
Responsibilities and Collaborative Efforts
Under the agreement, The Asiatic Society will provide access to its extensive archival collections and historical records while offering scholarly expertise to guide research efforts. iLEAD, with its proficiency in AI-driven innovation and media production, will apply advanced digital tools for manuscript restoration, as well as lead the creation of compelling documentary content to bring history to a wider audience.
The collaboration will also include specialized workshops, seminars, and training programs on the application of AI in historical research and conservation, as well as short-term courses on museumology and artifact preservation.

Through joint efforts, The Asiatic Society and iLEAD will explore funding opportunities for research and production projects, ensuring the sustainability of their initiatives.
