That touchstone of love……

Spread the love

Moubani Sorcar : Famous Actress & Dancer.

I picked up a stone so black,
As a child, not knowing what it was,
Far in a Japanese land, a place which I cannot track,
A heart bourne feeling which said it was mine beyond any laws,
A strange cut made its beauty shine above it’s flaws,
My lovely stone,
Which I believed to be lord Shiva,
It heard my words on its own,
I spoke to it every day,
And it made me dream of a way,
When I will use its powers,
And make it turn inanimate things to life,
Then on one evening with the warm Kalbaishakhi showers,
It touched a tree with pale yellow flowers,
Next day it bore mangoes that I cut with a knife,
And I realised my stone was real,
It could help me strike a deal.
Could turn thousands of stone into seed of fruits,
I had nothing to do ,not even plant any roots.
So I sold mangoes and made my dream come true,
Unknowingly I fell in love with whatever grew.
Money will come , and money will go but nothing else with the powers I knew,
Would I give away,
Never ever in a day,
But it was not love,
That was there in my heart’s trove,
Towards that stone I saw first,
And like some unquenched thirst,
The mangoes started to turn bitter,
And it was no more than litter.
I realised that, the sweet taste of love,
Made the softness amongst two doves,
And as my love waned,
So did the mangoes’ sweetness get drained.
More than the stone ,
It is what you find in it,
Which is your heart’s own,
That is where life and death did meet.
Immaterial bliss
We all would miss,
If the roots to ur soul did dry up,
There would be no fruit or crop.
So my touchstone
Is the self of my own.
As today I let it sit where ever it wants to.
I know this truth of life and what it will do.
