The day reminds people about the bond of love and charity we need to shower over our brethren in the society. A firm believer of this thought, Super Shakti Foundation , a csr wing of the SAI GROUP has done its bit for the society by presenting a humble donation to the Marwari Relief Society today through project “ MANAVTA”
At a formal function, Shri Sitaram Agarwal, Chairman, Chairman of SAI Group, Shri. Gopal Krishna Sharan, Chief Mentor, Sai Group, presented the donation to shri Govind Ram, Joint Secretary & Trustees of Marwari Relief Society today in presence of Shri Ishant Jain -csr nodal officer, Super Shakti Foundation. Marwari Relief Society is over 110 years old charitable healthcare facility dedicated tot the medical treatment of poor people in Kolkata. The donation of Rs 2 lakh rupees from Super Shakti Foundation will help the hospital to purchase equipment for eye surgery for the poor people. This would help the hospital to provide treatment to the economically less privileged section of the society.
“Super Smelters Ltd (SSL) is a responsible Corporate Citizen deeply committed to socio-economic development of the society where we operate. We firmly believe this donation would provide an impetus to the century old Marwari Relief Society to treat a large number of poor people who are in need of a quality treatment but cannot afford such treatment. This donation is for the poor and less privileged section of less privileged society. We feel that love, the pure energy of human emotions binds all of us with a common thread. Hence it is our responsibility to care for our brethren and Valentine’s Day is the best day to make such commitment for the society”, said Sitaram Agarwal, Chairman of SAI Group.

A few initiatives undertaken by Super Smelters Group
Women Empowerment Initiative: Formation of The Ikra Self Help Group (SHG) : this initiative was undertaken by Super Smelters Limited with local and Ladies of Ikra Village with a noble motive to develop Women empowerment in the surrounding areas. Initially the company has provided 6 Sewing Machines with required Raw Materials for making Hand Gloves which is required in the factories on regular basis. As a result those local Women are now earning to support their families. Super Shakti Foundation, the CSR wing of Super Smelters Ltd also has appointed a local female Trainer with recurrent Honorarium who provides proper training to the shg group women for making the hand gloves and other required items.
Adoption of Mamudpur Adivasi Pre-Primary School: This Primary School situated at Mamudpur is for the Under Privileged Students or the Adivasi Community Kids of the region. There are three teachers and one Head Master in the School. In order to create an interface between the Students and Teachers to ensure better educational infrastructure and reduce school drop-out, SSL has adopted the School to impart quality education . The school caters to these Adivasi Students of the region, a marginalized section of the society with quality education in a better infrastructure.
Donation of Ambulances : Super Smelters Ltd. donates ambulance under Corporate Social Responsibility Realizing the indispensable role of ambulance services in emergency pre-hospital medical care, patient transfer, ease of access to health services particularly to rural areas, Team Super Smelters has undertaken initiative of providing Ambulance for quick access to healthcare for marginalised populations. The ambulance has been donated to CHINSURAH AROGYA , an NGO in Hooghly district to provide better medical and relief services to the needy people of the villages surrounding in and around CHINSURAH. Mr. Gopal Krishna Sharan, Chief Mentor of SSL and Mr. Ishant Jain, CSR Nodal Officer handed over the ambulance to the NGO in the presence of the local MLA, Mr. Amit Mukherjee.
