And A Fitting Tribute

News stardom : Warengbari, Tripura,31st. January 2022.  Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers commemorated the 30th anniversary of the day, the founding father of the organisation – Gour Chandra Saha – departed for his heavenly abode.

The commemorative programme, on 30th January, was dedicated to all that the visionary entrepreneur and leading light of society believed in and lived for.

And the venue was Swarnagram ‘Warengbari’ – the model tribal village project of the heritage jewellery house.

The programme of the day included :

A health camp for all residents of the village – with free medical check-up and medicines.

Distribution of blankets, provision for the month, Covid safety guards and gift-packs of sweets and savouries for every family in the village; and, additionally for school students, study material and play kits.

Other features of the day-long event included yoga demonstration by the village children, song and dance performance by the youth of the village.

Altogether, a fitting tribute to Gour Chandra Saha who lived to celebrate the blessed life in this world and was overly conscious of the responsibility to spread that awareness – initiating, in his lifetime, many a social welfare project and contributing to other related causes.

“We took up ‘Swarnagram’ Warengbari as a model village project – 13 years back – with a resolve to work as a catalyst in the growth and development of the village and to help bring about a transformation in the lives and livelihood of the tribal people inhabiting the village”, said Rupak Saha, son-in-law of Gour Chandra Saha and Director, Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers, “and today it gives us great joy that, thanks to the support of the Government of Tripura, Bharat Sevasram & Ramkrishna Mission – apart from concerned doctors and healthcare workers, contributing corporates and firms and other well-wishers – it is all visible with improved civic facilities and amenities in the village, children completing school, graduating from college and going out to pursue careers and the community in general progressing towards betterment of livelihood and improved quality of life”

“It also gives us immense pleasure to commemorate this day here at ‘Swarnagram’ because nothing would please my dear departed father more than seeing us participate in the process of growth and development of under privileged people and ethnic communities”, said Arpita Saha, daughter of Gour Chandra Saha and Director, Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers, adding “We thank God for giving us the opportunity to be of use in the service of mankind and society; and, therefore, look forward to occasions like this to express our gratitude to the almighty”

The day’s programme ended with a prayer for peace, progress and freedom from fear.
