The Bengali literary landscape expanded with the unveiling of Shobdo Bilasi, the second poetry collection by poet and author Anuradha Mazumdar, published by Sobdoguchha Prakashana, marking an important moment in her evolving creative journey. The literary unveiling took place in the esteemed presence of Smt. Rachna Banerjee, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha – Hooghly), Sutopa Bandopadhyay, acclaimed elocutionist, anchor, television personality and actress, Mr. Rahul Burman, renowned actor and director, and Ms. Madhuchhanda Sen, Founder of Maya Art Space. Their presence lent depth and distinction to an evening dedicated to words and expression.
Published by Sobdoguchha Prakashana, Shobdo Bilasi stood as a conscious celebration of the poet’s love for her mother tongue. Written in Bengali, the book reflected a deep emotional allegiance to the language, even as the poet’s life and upbringing unfolded beyond Bengal’s geographical boundaries. Speaking on the unveiling of her second book, Shobdo Bilasi, Anuradha Mazumdar said, “This book grew out of moments of observation, silence and lived experience. About the Poet
Anuradha Mazumdar was born in Lohardaga (Ranchi–Netarhat) and held a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Trained in classical music from Allahabad Prayag Sangeet Samiti, she performed regularly at cultural platforms in India and abroad. She represented India at the Chinese Consulate and the 5th China–South Asia Cooperation Forum, presenting recitations and speeches before international delegates.
