News Stardom : Kolkata, 23rd, December, 2022. A Press Conference was held in Press Club, Kolkata for the announcement of the Silent Peaceful Protest Rally. The conference was organized by Sri Bengal Bihar Orissa Digambar Jain Tirth Kshetra Committee (BBOTC) & All Jain Samaj Kolkata.
On Saturday, 24th December 2022 at about 12pm members of Jain Community along with approx 4000 people will march a silent, peaceful Rally. The Rally will held to protest against the Gazette Notification S.O.2795 (E) dated 02.08.2019 issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate, Central Government declaring the most sacred Sri Sammed Shikharji hill as a tourist place instead of the worship place of Jains Community which is not acceptable at all by the entire Jain Community in India and abroad.
In the Conference, Sri Bhagchand Kasliwal, President, said, “The Shikharji hills are sacred place for Jains Community where twenty tirthankars had attained Niravana. And now this government notification will destroy the sanctity and dignity of our sacred place. So, to all my religious loving brothers, it’s my appeal to make this protest silent rally a success by participating in this with your entire family, friends, well-wishers and give your valuable contribution in saving Sammed Shikhar ji. ”
Sri Ajit Pandya, Vice President, said, “The Rally will start from Digambar Jain Mandir and will take a rout from Kalakar Street, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Pagaiya Patti, Brabourne Road, India Exchange Place, Bentinck Street, Dharmatalla More and pass through Metro Y Channel and will end up with a huge meeting.”
Also, Sri Suresh Kr Sethi Kanki, Secretary, said, “ This is a big conspiracy to make Sammed Shikharji a tourist destination, in which there are plans to build eco-tourism trails from the foothills to top and to build tourist camps on the mountain. The entire Jains Community is against of this decision.”
“We will have thousands of Jain people in the Rally, and we all will protest against the government decision. We want justice for the entire Jain Community all over India and abroad” said, Sri Manoj Saraogi, Treasurer.
Sri Manoj Jain Ishika, PRO also said, “Sammed Shikhar Ji is the sacred place for all Jain Community. The reversal of the government notification has to be done immediately; otherwise it will be difficult to save the sanctity of this sacred place.
