Staff Reporter : Kolkata, July 12th, 2024: The National Restaurant Association of India, the voice of the Indian restaurant industry released its long-awaited India Food Services Report 2024 (NRAI IFSR 2024) in New Delhi on July 9th. In Kolkata, the report along with a special booklet on the Food Services Sector in Kolkata was launched by Smt. Nandini Chakravorty, IAS, Home Secretary, Government of West Bengal.

Also, gracing the occasion with their presence were the Office Bearers of Kolkata Chapter, Sagar Daryani– CEO& Co Founder, Wow! Momo Foods and Vice President NRAI, Aditya Ladsaria- Co- Founder and Director, Chai Break, National Management Committee member, Abhimanyu Maheshwari – Founder and CEO, Zing Restaurants, NRAI Kolkata Chapter Head and Piyush Kankaria – Co Founder and Partner, The Yellow Straw, NRAI Kolkata Co-Chapter Head.

The 5th edition of the NRAI India Food Services Report along with a brief report on the Food Services sector in Kolkata provides an in-depth analysis shared by the industry stakeholders and consumer voices. The report delivers valuable insights into operational models and practices, investment strategies, dining trends, and sustainability efforts.

According to the NRAI IFSR 2024, the market size of Kolkata Food Services Industry is estimated to be valued at ₹8,055 crores and comes in at #7 amongst the top 21 cities in the organised food service sector. There are a total of 61,305 restaurants in the (Organised + Unorganised) Food Services sector in Kolkata with Fine Dining Restaurants leading the way with customers preferring to dine-out at exclusive locations to celebrate special occasions with their loved ones and families.
