News stardom : Kolkata, 26th November 2023: Narula Institute of Technology (NiT), a JIS Group educational initiative organised a Degree Award Ceremony 2023 on 24th November 2023 at its Campus in Agarpara, Kolkata.
The ceremony commenced by lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Prof. (Dr.) Tapas Chakraborty, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal, Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director-JIS Group, Sardar Haranjit Singh, Joint Managing Director- JIS Group, and other dignitaries, who later awarded the certificates to the students.
2344 students of B. Tech, M.Tech, and MCA were awarded their degrees and were felicitated on the occasion. The toppers of each stream were conferred with medals.
The event was graced by the Honourable Vice Chancellor of MAKAUT Prof. (Dr.) Tapas Chakraborty who was also the Chief Guest and presided over the Degree Award Ceremony. Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Ghosh, Director, IIIT, Bhubaneswar was the Guest of Honour. Prof. (Dr.) Soumen Banerjee, Principal, Dr. Nidhi Singh, Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Sourav Saha, Dean- R&D and Prof. (Dr.) B K Medya, COE were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group extended his warmest congratulations to the graduating students and said, “The learning years are the most important and vital days in a student’s life. It is education that transforms and affects society and the future generations. Convocation is not only a way to felicitate them, but also a platform to make the Graduates realise their duties towards society with the knowledge they have acquired.”
