Kolkata Thunderbolts announces internship program at iLEAD and Adamas University…..

News Stardom : kolkata, 17th.December, 2022. Kolkata Thunderbolts Co-Owner & Chairman Pawan Kumar Patodia took the center stage at ADAMAS UNIVERSITY and Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Development (iLEAD COLLEGE) for an hour-long session with the students along with Team Director Sumedh Patodia. They were felicitated by Mahul Bramha, Dean of Adamas University SOMC, and by Pragya Chopra, Executive Director of iLEAD college. In both sessions, they offered more than a hundred student attendants, insights into the workings of the sports management industry from one of the most promising young sports entrepreneurs in this part of the country.
Sumedh Patodia shared his journey from studying abroad in London and U.S.A, to working in the financial services sector in Mumbai, to then pursuing an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, to finally pursuing a career in sports management as the Team Director of Kolkata Thunderbolts. He emphasized the crucial role he played in his passion for his work and that a long-term vision for his goals has played in guiding him. Sumedh also strongly insisted the students consider a career in the sports industry in India, whose prospects he is strongly bullish on for the next 10 years. “India is the gold mine of the world, and every major brand and business globally want to enter the Indian market. We have a power which we have not entirely understood yet,” commented Sumedh while explaining the commercial viability of Indian sports leagues. “Prime Volleyball League is structured in such a way from inception that the interests of all stakeholders are always aligned, and which foremost puts players first,” explained Sumedh to the young group of students. Besides this Pawan Kumar Patodia motivated students by saying that students should not consider failure as the end of the journey rather should take it as a opportunity. He concluded the session by saying students should stick on their interest in a particular field and industry rather changing it very often.

Adamas University

Kolkata Thunderbolts has been extremely active throughout the off season for RuPay Prime Volleyball League Powered by A23 since the last 8 months. The Kolkata based franchise, under the guidance of the renowned industrialist CA Pawan Kumar Patodia, has attempted to tap into every stakeholder in the ecosystem which can come together to develop the volleyball infrastructure on the whole in India. They also wanted to give internship to few students who have attended the session and wanted to have a career in Sports Industry in India.
About Kolkata Thunderbolts: The Kolkata Thunderbolts is the inaugural season champion volleyball franchise from RuPay Prime Volleyball League Powered by A23 (PVL). PVL features eight city-based franchises – Calicut Heroes, Kochi Blue Spikers, Ahmedabad Defenders, Hyderabad Black Hawks, Chennai Blitz, Bengaluru Torpedoes, Mumbai Meteors and Kolkata Thunderbolts competing in a single round-robin format Volleyball league with the first season held in Hyderabad in February 2022. The league was broadcasted on Sony TV Network and garnered a viewership of 133 million country-wide.
Season 2 for the league is scheduled to take place in February 2023, with the league starting international broadcasting with Volleyball World of FIVB.
