News Stardom : kolkata, 18th. September 2022. Kolahal Theatre Workshop aims at development and therapy-based programs for the stigmatized sections of the society. Our previous works included LGBTQ community, female sex workers of Kolkata and the drug addicts.
Presently we are coming up with our 5th production named “CHUPCHAP CHARLIE”, with the autistic & intellectually disabled children and young adults of Mentaid (association for persons with
developmental and intellectual disabilities). Eminent actors like Om Sahani, Devlina Kumar, Nigel Akkara will be also participating in the play Music for Chupchap Charlie has been composed by Prajna Dutta where renowned singers Iman
Chakraborty, Durnibar Saha, Shovon Ganguly, Timir Biswas, Sayani Palit, Shri B.D Sharma, Nigel Akkara and adults with intellectual disabilities have given their voices for various songs to be used in
the play.
Renowned poet Shri Subodh Sarkar has written a poem for the play which is recited by renowned elocutionist Smt Bratati Bandyopadhyay exclusively for the play Chupchap Charlie Kolahal Theatre Workshop is now organizing a fashion show in association with Piyal Banerjee, a fashion designer of Sew In Style, who is providing the costumes of our play
“CHUPCHAP CHARLIE”. In this event, eminent celebrities like Pooja Karmakar, Ananya Bhowmik, Avijit Roy, Ananya Roychowdhury, Jahar Das, Sujata, Kingshuk Acharyya, Sunita Sen, Tuban Chakraborty, Soma Chakraborty, Alok Sanyal, Sayani Palit, Jhooma, Nigel Akkara, Aritra Mukherjee, Richa Sharma, Priyanka Sarkar, Prajna Dutta, Soumili Ghosh, Rishi Chakraborty, Swarnali Sarkar, Durnibar Saha,
ChirasreeSarkar, Rajoshree De, Devlina
Kumar, Om Sahani will make their presence along with the intellectual disabled children
and young adults of Mentaid, who will also be participating in this fashion walk.
They will also walk on the ramp. This is the first time a fashion walk is being organized in Kolkata with the autistic and intellectually disable children and young adults.
The play is being directed by Nigel Akkara & Jahar Das jointly. Script is written by Sharbani Ghosh Basu and Ipsita Mukherjee.
