Staff Reporter : Kolkata, 8th. July 2024. – To capitalize on the immense growth potential and opportunities in the plastic industry in the Eastern region, the Indian Plastics Federation (IPF) is organizing its triennial exhibition “INDPLAS’25” in Kolkata from February 28 to March 3, 2025, at Bishwa Bangla Mela Prangan (Milan Mela), Kolkata, India. This event aims to attract major domestic and global players to benefit from the growth in West Bengal and other Eastern Indian states.

IPF, one of the oldest plastics industry bodies in India, announced today that INDPLAS’25 will be the largest sector-specific business-to-business (B2B) international plastics exhibition in the Eastern region. This 10th edition of the “INDPLAS” series will bring the entire plastics industry under one roof
The Eastern region is set for rapid growth due to low per capita consumption and the easy availability of raw materials from Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd in West Bengal, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd in Odisha, and Brahmaputra Gas & Cracker Ltd in Assam.

Mr. Ashok Jajodia, Chairman of the event, highlighted that the theme of INDPLAS’25, “The Future is East,” reflects the growth potential and opportunities in the plastics sector in Eastern India. Enthusiasm among exhibitors is high, with around 75% of the exhibition space booked within 15 days of the start of online bookings. The current two halls at Bishwa Bangla Mela Ground may not suffice to accommodate all inquiries, underscoring the untapped growth potential in the region. Foreign exhibitors from Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Germany, and other countries have shown significant interest, although Chinese exhibitors are unable to participate due to Indian visa policies. The number of participants is expected to reach 450, the highest in INDPLAS history. There is a strong response from both Indian and foreign machinery manufacturers, ancillary service providers, raw material suppliers, and producers of additives and master batches.

INDPLAS’25 is supported by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India, WBIDC, Government of West Bengal, the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Plastindia Foundation, and all leading plastics associations in India.

“INDPLAS’25 will play a pivotal role in the development and investment in the plastic sector in the Eastern region,” “This exhibition is a celebration of innovation, sustainability, and collaboration. We are proud to bring together the best minds in the plastics industry to shape the future of plastics and create a better tomorrow. INDPLAS’25 promises to provide a platform for exhibitors, visitors, and stakeholders.
