Debasish Biswas : Kyrgyzstan, 4th. July 2023. Climbing again in Pamir…
We went to Karakol Base Camp to attempt couple of peaks in that area. Our target two peaks – 30 Let Vlksm (4083) and Prejevalsk (4272). The name of 30 Let Vlksm was given on the occasion of the 30th year of Vladimir Lenin’s works of uniting all the parties. And Prejevalsk is named after the man who explored this region.

On 3rd July, 2023 we started at 5 am for Mt. Vlskm (we named it Mt. Unity, in Bengali সংহতি).
First we crossed Karakol river. The only bridge which was here is now broken. It was really an extreme challenge to cross Karakol river. We have to find out a probable route which seems less dangerous. To cross it took almost 2 hours. Then continuous steep climbing. Finally at 3.30 pm we could reach at the top of Mt. Unity.
Climbing members: Malay Mukherjee, Sourav Sinchan Mandal, Kiran Patra, Abhijit Roy and Debasish Biswas.

While returning heavy rain started. We came back in the rain and by this time the river became ferocious. And it was a life time adventure to cross it.
Next day our plan was to climb Prejevalsk (difficult pronunciation so we named it after our own great explorer Swami Vivekananda, in short Vivek).

But as we need to cross the Karakol river again to attempt Mt. Vivek, and as it is too risky; moreover weather of this area become bad, we abort the plan and are back to Karakol.
