Staff Reporter : kolkata, 2nd February 2026, The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) successfully concluded a major road safety initiative in Kolkata, where 1,000 helmets were distributed to beneficiaries as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting safer two‑wheeler mobility.
The activity took place at the Police Training Centre in Alipore, a long‑established institutional complex located at 247, Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Road, Kolkata, one of the city’s most important north–south arterial routes.
This initiative aligns with a series of national road safety efforts where helmet distribution drives have played a significant role in reinforcing better riding behaviour and reducing preventable head injuries among commuters an outcome observed in similar campaigns across various regions of India.
Mr. Rohit Chowdhury, State Chairperson, FADA West Bengal, said: “FADA remains deeply committed to strengthening road safety culture across our state. By distributing 1,000 helmets, we aimed to directly address one of the most critical gaps in two wheeler safety. A helmet is not just protective gear, it is a life saving responsibility. We are grateful to our partners and West Bengal Police ecosystem for supporting this important effort, and we will continue to champion initiatives that safeguard riders and reduce avoidable road tragedies.”
FADA reiterated that community engagement, enforcement support, and continued awareness remain central to its mission of building safer roads for all.
