September 2024 The School of Education, Adamas University, recently organised their flagship event ‘Educlave 2024 – Where Experience Meets Innovation’ and brought together over 25 renowned schools from Kolkata for an insightful exchange of ideas. The event aimed to inspire B.Ed. students and promote innovation in teacher education in Bengal.
Educlave 2024 gathered top school principals, directors, and educationists from across Kolkata to engage in a discourse on educational leadership, emerging trends, and teaching strategies aligned with the National Curriculum Framework set by the Ministry of Education and the National Council of Educational Research and Training. The contributions of the School of Education, along with its emphasis on talent and excellence, were central to the discussions.
The event also served as a platform for networking among principals, dignitaries, and School of Education faculty, encouraging future educational collaborations. The highlight of Educlave 2024 was the focus on shaping the ideology of future educators.
The event also showcased the grand launch of its 9th edited book, Mental Health and Student Well-Being,” edited by Prof. (Dr.) Shauli Mukherjee and Prof. (Dr.) Koppula Victor Babu. This book emphasises the holistic development of students and the importance of mental health in education.
Eminent principals from participating schools, including Rupkatha Sarkar, La Martinere for Girls, Ambalika Chatterjee, St. Xavier’s Institution, Rev. Rodney Borneo, St. Augustine’s Day School, Shyamnagar, and others, shared their valuable insights on the evolving role of teachers in nurturing curiosity and leadership in students.
Distinguished speakers included the university’s vice chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Suranjan Das, who advocated for transformative classroom education and said, “Our classrooms must evolve from being mere centres of information to becoming transformative spaces where critical thinking, creativity, and holistic development take precedence.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Radha Tamal Goswami, who highlighted the importance of teachers embracing instrumental values, said, ‘A teacher’s role extends beyond instruction; it is about embodying the value of instrumentality, guiding students to discover their potential, and equipping them with the tools to shape their own futures.’
