Staff Reporter : Kolkata, 15 March, 2026: Kolkata’s distinguished cultural organization Vichar Manch organized a felicitation ceremony at SPK Jain Futuristic Academy, New Town, where eminent personalities from various fields were honoured for their outstanding contributions.
Presiding over the prestigious felicitation ceremony, noted industrialist and social worker Hariprasad Budhia appreciated the initiative and said that such programmes serve as an inspiration for society and encourage people to contribute meaningfully.
Among the awardees, the Sohanlal Dugad Bhamashah Samman was conferred posthumously on Late Sohanlal Singhvi; the Sardarmal Kankaria Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Usha Uthup; the Karmayogi Samman was given to Jaswant Singh Mehta; the Kanhaiyalal Sethia Sahitya Samman was awarded to Monika Gaur; the Ravindra Jain Sangeet Sadhana Samman was presented to Maruti Mohata; the Kisanlal Kankaria Shaurya Samman was conferred on Piyali Basak; the Kanhaiyalal Malu Vidyalaya Gaurav Samman was awarded to Adarsh Agrawal; the Brahmi Kala Samman was presented to Abhijit Mahto; and the Anupama Samman was awarded to Anvi Daga. The distinguished awardees were honoured with garlands, shawls, mementos, and a cash award.
The programme began with a Mangalacharan by Trisha Bhansali, followed by a dance performance by Anvi Daga. Joint Secretary Dr.Tara Dugar, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the organization’s social initiatives and welcoming the honoured guests. The event was skilfully anchored by Sumita Kaushik, while Dr. Premshankar Tripathi, Vice President of the organization, delivered the vote of thanks.
The ceremony was attended by several social workers, literary figures, and members of the press from Kolkata and Howrah, along with dignitaries including President Shri Sarder Mul Kankariya, Patron Shri Pannalal Kochar, Patron Shri Surendra Banthia, Patron Shri R.K.Bothra, Vice President Padma Chand Nahata,Vinod Minni,Vinod Kankaria, Ashok Minni, Lalit Kankaria, Jaydeep Patwa,Arun Maloo,Rajendra Rampiria,Jay Bothra, Manoj Bothra, Ashok Bothra,Padma Minni, Shashi Kankaria , Sonal Choraria and Trishla Bhansaly . The successful organisation of the event was made possible through the active support of Hanuman Nahata,Kishore Genri and others, while several other members of the organisation were also present on the occasion.
