55th.The Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally….

Sayan Debnath : kolkata, 5th. January, 2026.The Statesman, organiser of the country’s oldest vintage car rally, announced the 55th edition of the prestigious “Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally” at a press conference held at the Press Club, Kolkata. In addition, a vintage car was showcased at the venue as a showstopper attraction.

The 55th edition of the rally will take place on 11th January, 2026, at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) ground. The rally will be flagged off at 09:10 AM from the RCTC Polo Ground.

Approximately 160 vintage and classic cars and 50 two-wheelers are expected to participate featuring a spectacular line-up of legendary marques, a few of which includes Triumph, Studebaker, Chevrolet, Dodge, DeSoto as well as iconic British brands like Austin, Morris and MG.

Mr. Gobinda Mukherjee (Business Head – East India, The Statesman), addressing the media at the conference said, “No participation fee is charged from the entrants. The objective of the rally is to provide vintage and classic car owners a platform to showcase their prized possessions and keep automotive heritage alive. While car shows are held regularly, The Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally remains the oldest rally of its kind in India.”
He mentioned that this rally was first organised in Delhi in 1964, while the Kolkata edition began in 1968, firmly establishing it’s position as a landmark event on India’s motoring calendar.

Present at the press conference were Suman Bhattacharya (Sr. Vice President), Sayed Hasmat Jalal (Consulting Editor, Dainik Statesman) and Nitish Kapoor (Head – Event and Activation, The Statesman, Delhi). Debashis Das (Chief Reporter, Dainik Statesman) moderated the session.

Free passes for the event would be available from the Statesman Kolkata office from 11:00 AM to 06:00 PM everyday till 9th January, 2026.
