February 2025.The Everest Better Kitchen Culinary Challenge (Everest BKCC) Season 6 semi-finals for West Bengal took place at NSHM Institute of Hotel & Tourism Management, Durgapur, bringing together aspiring chefs, culinary experts, and food enthusiasts in an electrifying competition.

Under the theme “Flavours of India,” Everest BKCC continues to inspire and nurture young chefs, emphasizing three key pillars—preserving and promoting regional cuisines, encouraging healthier food choices, and advocating culinary tourism.

This prestigious event celebrated the revival of traditional lost recipes and Indian sweets (Toyharo Ka Meetha), offering young culinary talents a platform to showcase their skills while preserving India’s diverse gastronomic heritage.

The competition saw participants masterfully blending heritage flavors with modern techniques, crafting exceptional dishes that wowed the jury and reaffirmed the significance of Indian regional cuisine.

The national-level competition is made possible through the support of Everest Masala, Incredible India (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India), Uttar Pradesh Tourism, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Wisdom Career Education, MYMENU365, and Bio Nutrients (India) Pvt Ltd.

The semi-finals are part of a thrilling 17-city competition spanning across India, culminating in a highly anticipated grand finale, where the nation’s top budding hospitality talents will compete for culinary excellence.

Ekkta Bhargava, Publisher of Better Kitchen, highlighted the broader vision of Everest BKCC, stating:
“Our mission is to prepare students for future challenges while promoting regional Indian cuisines. By integrating local ingredients into global dishes and reviving lost recipes, we aim to inspire the next generation of chefs. This year, we are proud to award scholarships worth ₹1 crore through the USA J1 WCE Chef Exchange Visitor Program, offering a one-year paid internship in the USA.”

This initiative, in collaboration with Wisdom Career Education, provides young Indian chefs with invaluable global exposure, helping them refine their skills on an international stage.
