Staff Reporter : Kolkata, 29th. October, 2024. The Quality Accreditation Institute (QAI) of India has conferred CMRI Hospital, Kolkata, with Stroke Accreditation. This is one of the highest standards of quality accreditation. CMRI is the first hospital in Eastern India to achieve this recognition. The certification highlights CMRI Stroke Centre’s leadership in stroke care, offering cutting-edge treatments and a well-rounded approach to stroke recovery. With a multidisciplinary team, the centre remains dedicated to providing a seamless experience for patients from diagnosis to rehabilitation.
This milestone underscores CMRI’s dedication to augmenting neurological and stroke care standards. In response to this achievement, Unit Head CMRI Sombrata Roy opined, “This recognition reflects our commitment to adapting to the latest QAI standards, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through the formation of a dedicated stroke committee. In alignment with QAI’s quality indicators, we have implemented a streamlined process to track crucial metrics such as assessment time, door-to-CT/MRI time, door-to-needle time, and door-to-Cath lab time, ensuring timely treatment. Additionally, our hospital conducts monthly stroke mock drills to enhance the team’s coordination and efficiency. To further improve patient care, we have established a designated stroke helpline. Our neurology and stroke centre continues to be a leader in addressing acute, chronic, and complex neurological conditions.” Apart from optimization of medical treatment, neuro-modulation treatment like deep brain stimulation, Botulinum toxin injection therapy for various movement disorders and spasticity, comprehensive treatment for various types of headaches, and advanced treatment for multiple sclerosis and neuroimmune disorders, patients are also being managed and treated.
