News Stardom : Kolkata, 28th. November, 2022. RICE IAS staged a very successful seminar on ‘A New Vista of Opportunities for IAS Aspirants’ at the Calcutta University Institute Hall on November 26, 2022. The seminar formally announced the collaboration of RICE IAS with Destination IAS Academy, which is one of the most well-known IAS training institutes in Delhi. The honoured guests were welcomed and introduced by Dr. Parijat De, the director of RICE IAS.

The seminar was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray, the founder Chairman of RICE and the Chancellor of Adamas University, who in his inaugural address spoke about his dream of creating an ecosystem in West Bengal and eastern India which would enable the aspirants of this region to achieve their ambition of becoming bureaucrats at the national level to serve the nation and society. The synergy generated by the two academies, he hoped, would bring about a quantum change in training IAS aspirants.

Dr. D.P. Agrawal, ex-UPSC Chairman, was the Chief Guest of the seminar. Dr. Agrawal in his address to the aspirants spoke elaborately and lucidly about the architecture of the UPSC examination system, its advantages and benefits and the mindset required to ace the three-tiered examination. His address created a positive vibe amongst the young listeners. Next to address the seminar was Mr. Manmohan Singh of DRDO. He spoke of the dos and don’ts about preparing for the UPSC exams. His practical and witty approach was enlightening as well as entertaining. The final speaker was Mr. Kailash Mishra, the director of Destination IAS Academy. He presented a detailed analysis of what to prepare and how to prepare in a methodical manner to score well in all the three parts of the Civil Services Examination viz. prelims, mains and interview.

The seminar was attended by undergraduate and post-graduate students from almost all the reputed colleges and universities in and around Kolkata. While stressing home the importance of making bureaucracy a career choice for the students of Bengal, the speakers brought out the prestige, power and the opportunity of serving the people and the nation involved in becoming a career bureaucrat.

Eminent faculty from both RICE and Destination IAS Academy would not only teach and guide the IAS aspirants but also mentor them individually on a regular basis. No longer will the students from Bengal and eastern India be required to flock to Delhi to train for the UPSC examination; they will henceforth be able to reap the benefits of IAS coaching of Delhi sitting in Kolkata. Cracking the UPSC Civil Services examination will no longer remain a dream but be within the grasp of the aspirants from Bengal and eastern India under the aegis of RICE IAS and Destination IAS Academy.

The seminar came to a close with a note of thanks by Dr. Parijat De.
