Woodlands return gift on Doctors’ Day, straight from the heart…

Spread the love

News Stardom : Kolkata, 2nd,July 2022.  Woodlands salutes the big heart of doctors that gives them the impetus to put service to humanity before themselves, ignoring the advice of regular check-ups that is often part of their prescriptions. To push doctors to take their own health more seriously, on this Doctors’ Day, Kolkata’s grandest hospital is offering all doctors a complimentary heart check-up package from July 1 to 14, so that any signs of anomaly can be detected and nipped in the bud.
The free cardiac check-up that Woodlands is extending to all MBBS doctors include tests like CBC, Blood Sugar(F), Serum Creatinine, Uric Acid, Lipid Profile, ALT/SGPT, Urine R/E and ECG.
On the occasion of National Doctors’ Day on July 1, Woodlands also doffs its hat to the leadership qualities in senior doctors — the hands-on training, leading by example when it comes to putting in long hours, attending emergencies at odd hours and so on — that nurture and prepare future generations of doctors, who would themselves go on to emerge as leaders. Leadership qualities, of course, were in ample measure in Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, on whose birth and death anniversary, National Doctors’ Day is celebrated. He was at once Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and Fellow of the Royal College of physicians as well as the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1948 until his death in 1962.
“The very best of clinical skillsets as well as humane qualities exuded by senior doctors make a permanent mark on young mind of their team. This is how, legacies are carried forward. Woodlands, which carries a rich history of over 75 years has been synonymous with the unfaltering tradition of premium clinical care. We have been able to achieve this because since the inception of organised private healthcare in the country because the most prolific doctors of Kolkata have been associated with Woodlands throughout this journey,” said Dr Rupali Basu, Managing Director & CEO, Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital.
Speaking on the free cardiac check-ups being offered to the entire fraternity of MBBS doctors, Dr Basu said: “Doctors are so taken up in their busy schedules that they have hardly any Me-time left. Keeping a tab on their own health often takes a back seat. Our humble aim is to reiterate what doctors already know – that one should get regular health check-ups, especially if one is over 40 and more so if heart disease runs in the family.”
Also present at the present conference were Dr Malati Purkait, COO, Dr Soumitro Bhattacharya, consultant, radiology & chief of radio diagnosis, Dr Mainak Chakraborty, the chief of Laboratory Services, Dr Prasun Mitra, chief of Non-invasive cardiology and Dr Soutik Panda, consultant, critical care, Woodlands. The programme was moderated by Dr Saumitra Chattopadhyay, deputy medical superintendent of the hospital.

The health check-up can be availed at Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital at 8/5, Alipore Road 9am onwards.
