Dr. Debiprosad Duari : kolkata, 26th. December, 2021. M. P. Birla Planetarium has been the centre point of my life in the last 21 years. The joy, happiness, acknowledgements and laurels all were possible because it has allowed me to share its glory. Numerous students, well wishers and friends have showered me with respect, love, unforgettable memories and a sense of purpose and involvement. The prospect of leaving the star studded sky of the Planetarium is quite daunting and leaving me numb. But, all good things end, and in my case it should have been a smooth transition from the excitement and euphoria to the relative calm of a superannuated life, but it is happening quite suddenly and a little unexpectedly as well. I am not as fortunate as my predecessors !!
On the Republic Day of India, it seems that I have to leave the stage and usher in a new phase in my life. I may have to leave the stars at the Planetarium, but they will always within me, trying to guide me through an unplanned and uncharted journey. Anyway old stars fade to usher in new bright stars – at least in Astronomy !!!
