News Stardom : Kolkata, 27th. October, 2020. She always believed that life is too short to not do anything. She started her career at the mere age of 17. Being the elder one in the family, she had to take up the responsibility of the family business, but modelling was always at the back of her mind. She participated in the beauty pageant Sananda Tillotama in 2007 and qualified in the top 20. Although she got married at the early age of 20, she started working with her husband and soon expanded their three generation old business of silk sarees, The Bombay Silk Stores,
in New Market. The young couple, bringing in modern marketing overtures to a traditional bastion.
In 2015, she was blessed with a baby girl and that changed her life. Despite being one of the best feelings in the world, motherhood probably left her with a sense of ennui too. This and the weight she had put on, pulled her into clinical depression which she battled with the support of her loving husband, Vinay. She represents a fairly wide canvas of those young mothers who dreamt of soaring the blue skies with gossamer wings… but are wary of the myriad social stigmas that cross their paths inherently.
As she worked on herself, she realised that it was her unfulfilled dreams that were causing issues. She got enrolled into a Mrs India pageant worldwide. She was selected in the top 10 in Greece and also won the title of Mrs India Worldwide East 2018. Since then, she hasn’t looked back.
Currently, she works as a model and a social influencer and has very recently signed her first film. Several local and national brand properties have been endorsed by her snd more are on the anvil. The world of glamour is tough, considering body shaming and the tough competition, besides detractors from her own ilk … but she believes that hard work, focus and determination is essential in any vocation one chooses.
