A group of enthusiastic entrepreneurs got together in 1932 to protect and
promote the minority business interest within the overall context of India’s
economic growth.

Economic development of the country was one of the basic
objectives in the struggle for independence and it is in this background that the
“Muslim Chamber of Commerce” was born on 23rd September, 1932. In1956, in consonance with national thinking, Muslim Chamber of Commerce changed its name, as did some other chambers at that time, and became “The Oriental Chamber of Commerce” on 31st March, 1956.

This Chamber has, throughout, served the interest of its members, who consist
of Industrialists, exporters & importers, small and medium traders and
manufacturers and has worked primarily to promote manufacturing, trading and
export in the micro, small and medium sectors.
