52nd Foundation of CINI honored several organizations and individuals for their contributions to society…..

News Stardom : kolkata, 1st February, 2026. Child in Need Institute (CINI), one of the leading NGOs in India, celebrated its 52nd Foundation Day on the 1st of February 2026. At the campus of ‘Cyril Academy’ – a unique school nestled in nature run by CINI on the southern outskirts of Kolkata, four adolescent boys and girls from four states of India were present as chief guests for CINI’s Foundation Day. Some of the eminent dignitaries present in the event were Shri Dilip Mandal, Minister of State for the Transport Department of the West Bengal Government; Smt. Tulika Bose, Chairperson of the West Bengal State Child Protection Commission; and Advisor Smt. Ananya Chakraborty Chatterjee, along with other distinguished personalities.

For 52 years, CINI has engaged with nearly one crore people across eight states of the country on issues of maternal, child, and adolescent health, nutrition, education, protection, and environment. On this day, Dr. Indrani Bhattacharya, the CEO of the organisation, inaugurated CINI’s new initiative “Shubhayu”, focused on preventive healthcare. She stated that in an era of rising non-communicable diseases, this initiative will work in the upcoming days keeping in mind the health and well-being of people of all ages from various sections of society. On this day, screening of blood sugar, blood pressure, and other preliminary tests were also arranged for all attendees.

The state minister spoke about his long association with CINI and the extensive scope of the organization’s work.

CINI honored several organizations and individuals for their contributions to society. These included BDO Shri Irfan Mollah Hosain from Nagarakata Block, Jalpaiguri District, for delivering healthcare services to remote hilly areas during the North Bengal floods; Shri Satyabrata Shamal, Founder of the Sattvik Soul Foundation, known as Odisha’s Environment Man; Dumdum Municipality for significant work with CESC and CINI on floral waste management; Arogya World for its outstanding nationwide contribution on preventing childhood diabetes; Smt. Jyotsna Halder, Pradhan of Maipith Gram Panchayat in the Sundarbans, recipient of a national award for constructive initiatives to save children from drowning; and 15 “Kavach-Mothers” for their collaboration in CINI’s initiative on child drowning.

On this day, CINI’s Founder Secretary Dr. Samir Chaudhuri presented the annual report for the year 2024-25 and described CINI’s journey ahead with and for the people.
