Dr. Debiprosad Duari : Director, Research and Academic at M.P. Birla Institute of Fundamental Research.  Remembrance of a sad occasion. Six years back, today A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India passed away in a sudden illness, while giving lecture to mostly young minds at IIM, Shillong, whom he liked so much.
My interactions with him over number of years are memorable to me. I simply cannot forget how a man of his stature and wisdom could interact with every age group at every level with gentleness and always a with words of advise to lead a better, fruitful, happy life. I proudly remember my visit to his house in New Delhi and he asking me questions on cosmology. He must have been satisfied with my answers and presented me with his book, “Wings of Fire”, which he received that day from the publishers. He signed it and wrote a nice message.
Later on in Kolkata at the Science City, M.P. Birla Planetarium and the Raj Bhawan I had the opportunity of coming in touch with his greatness. I will cherish his telephonic conversations with me, mostly after 8 p.m., on various issues of science, technology, education and his feelings. I offer him my respect on his death anniversary.

The picture is at his house in New Delhi.
