News stardom : Kolkata, 27th. January 2023: Oindri Bhattacharya, a 15-year-old Taekwondo champion from Kolkata has brought laurels to the country by breaking a world record in Taekwondo. This young artiste has broken the Global Genious Record by performing an astonishing 2,25,000 face-level punches in 30 minutes, alongside 250 other taekwondo artists. Her prowess in Taekwondo is proven by the fact that she holds a Kukkiwon certificate, which is widely regarded as the most prestigious of all the Black Belt certificates within Taekwondo. Along with acing the sports department, Oindri is exceptionally good in Bharatnatyam and her academics as well.
With a young dream to represent India internationally, Oindri owes her success to her coach who nudged her to pursue Taekwondo in class 6. Being one of the youngest trainer to teach Taekwondo in India, she is already training students from India and US under her coach’s supervision and envisions having her own offline academy someday.
As passionately as she feels about the sport, Oindri is also very cognisant of her academic track record and wants to stay ahead of the curve. To support that intent, her parents enrolled her in BYJU’S when she was in class 8, a decision Oindri is quite happy about as she claims it has helped her with conceptual learning, especially of the sciences.
Speaking of successfully acing both academics and sports, Ondri said, “I have always been passionate about Taekwondo and want to continue following my dreams to represent India on an international platform. Having said that, my academics are also my first priority, and to manage both, I wanted a solution that let me study at my pace. Therefore, BYJU’S came along as a best friend in need and has been one of the best decisions of my academic life. With super interactive videos and conceptual content offered by BYJU’S, I am able to understand complex formulas in Chemistry & Physics that has made the subjects less daunting for me. My teachers on the app are also supportive and their personal attention has made clearing doubts pretty easy for me. Most importantly, they have helped me put the understanding of subjects onto answer sheets. I’ve noticed my time getting managed well between rigorous practice schedules and studying on a weekly basis and I couldn’t be happier.”
Vinay MR, Chief Content Officer, BYJU’S, said, “It is a proud moment for us at BYJU’S to witness glorious stories of students like Oindri. As a brand passionate about education, our primary goal is to help children fall in love with learning and become self-learners.
